The China Pavilion is strongly characterized by its floating roof designed as light and elegant shape in accordance to the architects concept "above the land of hope".
The laminated timber roof is inspired by the nature and the city profile with a series of landscape terraces which allow the air and the light to flow through the building.
The structural advanced analysis with Straus allowed the engineers to push the design to the limit delivering an elegant structure required by the architects.
